Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The IRLE Audiovisual Collection includes some 250 films donated to and/or collected by IRLE Faculty and Staff. These include commercial films, training and/or educational films (including those produced by the AFL-CIO), documentaries (produced independently and by unions), commemorative campaign videos, recordings of public hearings, convention videos, and compilations of news clips. Most of the films are in their original form (VHS or DVD), but selected films from the collection have been digitized.

Additional videos and original recordings are housed in the offices of the UCLA Institute for Research on Labor and Employment in the Ueberroth Building (10945 Le Conte Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90024) and are only available upon request by the researcher. Extent

From the Collection: 6 Linear Feet : Approximately 250 VHS tapes and DVDs, shorts and feature-length. Films are primarily documentary, educational/training, or news clips covering topics such as labor history, organizing and collective bargaining strategies, union campaigns, and Labor Center events. Includes multiple copies of commercially-produced films on DVD. ; 4 drawers at 16" x 39" (approx. 13 feet)
