Narro, (Victor) Collection
Scope and Contents
The Victor Narro Collection consists of six boxes of manuscript materials and publications, as well as one box of audiovisual materials, related to his work for and with various immigrant rights and workers justice organizations in Southern California. These include communications, organizing plans, legal documents, research materials, promotion materials, personal notes, event programs and publicity materials pertaining to the major thematic areas of Narro’s research and activism as well as the campaigns in which he has participated. Highlights include materials from the 2003 Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride and annual May Day commemorations in Los Angeles (2006-2010s), popular education materials for low-wage and immigrant workers, as well as documents from his work with carwash workers (early 2000s), street vendors (2010s), domestic workers, garment workers, day laborers, and taxi drivers. Also included are materials related to Narro's work at the UCLA Labor Center.

Conditions Governing Access
The Los Angeles Workers Justice Archives are housed in the offices of the UCLA Institute for Research on Labor and Employment. Select materials have been digitized and made available through the IRLE collection at the California Digital Library (https://calisphere.org). Original materials are housed at the IRLE offices in the Ueberroth Building (10945 Le Conte Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90024) and are only available upon request by the researcher. Biographical / Historical
Victor Narro joined the Labor Center staff in 2003 and is currently Project Director. He is also a lecturer in the UCLA Department of Chicano/a Studies and an adjunct faculty member at the law school. Prior to his tenure at the Labor Center, Narro worked for Sweatshop Watch, Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), and Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF).
